New Photography Annual 2010
During a photo shoot, so much emphasis is placed on the perfect shot and often it is such a small second in time when this takes place. As set-designers, we wanted to explore the beauty surrounding this moment by celebrating the enormous anticipation and frantic but methodical work that goes into setting up a photo shoot and also the aftermath; the moment of calm reflection when the shoot has been wrapped. For this project, the action shot; the noisy, colourful, sparkly, messy explosion of balloons, party-poppers, glitter cannons and paint tubes making up The Photography Annual’s ‘P’ is missing. La Ritournelle
I was asked by YCN to make something for under a fiver that would make them happy for a feature in the YCN 09/10 Annual. Inspired by Mexican niches, I raided my scrap box and nipped out for some glue and coloured fairy lights and made a small, static theatre inspired by a romantic weekend at the seaside full of music and dancing, sunshine and stars.

Gully Feast
We were commissioned to design a lit ceiling installation for the entrance of The Kraken Wakes in Portsmouth. Typically British, looming seagulls circling your head waiting to pounce as you eat your seaside snacks always reminds us of our time by the sea.

Tip-Top Road Trip
We sped off on a week long road trip to explore the top-tipped holiday locations of summer 2009. From kitsch and colourful seaside destinations to weird and wonderful festivals and passing through a number of picturesque villages along the way we documented our finds for you to enjoy. Vauxhall kindly sponsored the project and in return we designed them the ultimate souvenir. You can read more about our travels here.
