"The film plays with taboos and gender stereotypes, exploring a different kind of female beauty. It provides a glimpse into the world of female bodybuilder Kizzy Vaines. The visual aesthetic and soundtrack are reminiscent of the late 70s/early 80s, the golden age of female bodybuilding. It pays homage to pioneering goddesses of the sport like Lisa Lyon and Rachel Mclish."

The fashion film I art directed a couple of months ago won the Grand Prix at the ASOVFF Film Awards in Paris. Well done everyone involved. It was a great day of filming. I hope to work with the team again soon.

I did a fashion video a while back for Elisha Smith-Leverock (coming out soon) while I was reseaching what I was trying to do, I found this shoot in Dazed and Confused and fell in love with it. 
I just stumbled accross it again on the We are Folk Website. It's by the Photographer Viviane Sassen, I love her stuff, a mixture of amazing colour, structure and intruging scenarios.
It's great when the pieces of a puzzle fit together and you realise a photographer is someone you have been admiring for a while without looking at their name and then it all links up and you realise how much of their work you have looked at in various magazines over the years.
I love this shot...
Well worth a look.

On Tuesday I spent the day installing for the YCN awards at Shoreditch Town Hall. It was a very fun evening full of catching up with creative faces and really great to see a big company giving back and celebrating the students and young, up and coming proffesionals that will be the future of the industry - a very rare thing these days.

Little slow on the post here as the show is over, but thought I would post up a picture of the beauties we created for the show. My real nails have been having a long (3 month) rest from the acrylics, so it was a pleasure to take out my loss on the nails given to us to decorate for the show held at the Sassoon Gallery in Peckham at the end of last month. We also discovered that Lauren has a secret talent for glitter acrylics (my attempts looked diseased.)
Our Party Nails are a one stop shop for any party we might ever want to attend, infact I wish I had these for Carnival all horn and whistles.

Not your average florists, The Flower Appreciation Society will be offering up beautiful seasonal bouquets in the shop at 72 Rivington Street every Thursday and Friday. Bouquets made by our good friends Anna and Ellie will all be presented in wrappings embellished by guest YCN illustrators (first up Dawn Gardner, illustration pictured below), with limited bouquets offered for sale online and free delivery in Central London.
Look out for English dahlia's, Hydrangeas, Delphiniums, Astrantia and lots of lovely English foliage.

So tomorrow myself, Ellie Jauncey, Lizzie King & Katie Pritchard will be rising abnormally early on a Sunday morning to nab a pitch at Princess May car boot in Stoke Newington. We have gathered the finest clothes, toys, props, homeware and general pieces of bizarre wonderstuff for you to add to your collection. Expect china cats, colourful clothes, a heap of knitwear, frames, cameras, a cake finger oven glove and a whole lot more. Come have a browse, a cuppa and a chinwag. See y'all there, come rain, come shine. There is an indoor area so nothing will be stopping us!
